It’s crush hour at the pool
If more evidence was required for the need for infrastructure spend in China, the following snippet from the UK’s Daily Express (via John Husselbee) strengthens the argument: “When you share your country with more than 1.3 billion others, things are bound to get a bit tight at times. So these Chinese bathers desperate to escape soaring temperatures had no problem cramming into this pool yesterday. Using all manner of colourful inflatables and rubber rings to keep their heads above water, residents of Nanjing, on the Yangtze River, took to the public pool to get some respite from the sweltering heat as the mercury hit 37C (98.6F). But by the looks of these happy faces, nobody got hot-headed as they cooled off.” Source: Daily Express, July 21, 2009.
