Once upon a time Byron had his head on straight, yes a bear for the most part. Upon leaving his past employer and moving to his current gig, its been the same mantra supporting their side of the trade, not his own convictions.

@Norm: Keep in mind these are supposed to be “surprises” and for that reason Byron gives them only a 50% chance. Having said that, he came close to 100% with his 2009 list, many of which would have been considered highly unlikely at the start of 2009.

This is awesome. Byron Wien must have very high standards for himself if all of his predictions for 2009 were so close and yet he says he only gets 50% right. Perhaps he is just modest to a fault!

If no predictions that failed were withheld from the report and what was reported above was all he had predicted, is it possible at all for anyone to do better?

If his predictions for 2010 (which even include geo-political events) fall into place correctly then I might consider believing he has supernatural connections.
