US: Deluge of earnings reports
Some 139 companies will post results, giving a broader view of the economy. On Wednesday, President Obama is expected to sign into law the most comprehensive reform of bank regulation since the Great Depression.

Europe: Earnings and stress tests
Philips, Nokia and Ericsson report second-quarter earnings. On Thursday European banks stress test results are likely to hog the limelight.

Asia: Focus on Australia, South Korea
The Reserve Bank of Australia’s meeting minutes highlight a light economic news agenda, while South Korean chip maker Hynix’s earnings report should cast light on the outlook for personal computers.
