Wish this is true. But it may not be.
If this were true then people like Fairholm’s Mr. Berkowitz are going to clean up with big bets on Finance. But I am as skeptical as Mike above.
The article where the cartoon came from is very interesting (although gloomy) because it delves much deeper into the Great Depression policies than most. One point which is interesting is the subject of bank closures. I am not sure we have seen the end of that cycle. There are still alot of skeletons in those bank closets.
