U.S.: Key test due for consumer economy
Next week’s economic reports on jobless claims, inflation at the consumer level and retail sales should yield insights into how well consumers are withstanding higher prices at a time when wages are stagnating, says Julia Coronado, chief North American economist for BNP Paribas.

Europe: HSBC, easyJet
Next week’s focus will be on earnings announcements by HSBC, easyJet and EADS.

Asia: China data, Toyota earnings
Chinese inflation data will the focus in Asia next week, with figures due out Wednesday. Companies reporting earnings include Japanese automakers Toyota and Nissan.
