Greece and Italy have dramatically exposed the euro project’s flaws, but are these fatal? Gideon Rachman, FT’s chief foreign affairs columnist, argues Europe should be put out of its misery as far as the euro is concerned, while Quentin Peel, chief Germany correspondent, says fiscal union is now openly spoken of as the solution.
